||Colberg (Branitsky) Nehama
Nehama Coleberg was born in Rishon Le Zion. She studied at the local elementary school ("Haviv") and at the Levinsky teachers? seminary in Tel Aviv and graduated as a kindergarten teacher.
In 1925 she was sent to Baghdad and worked as kindergarten teacher there. She returned to Rishon Le Zion and worked for two years as kindergarten mistress in the kindergarten in the basement of the synagogue. In 1933 she went to the Zionist Congress in Prague and from there she went on to Vienna. There she graduated a course in the Montessori method. When she returned in 1935 she opened a private kindergarten in the village putting the method into practice. The kindergarten continued to function until her son was born in 1951.
In 1970 when her husband retired from his work as a children's doctor in Rishon Le Zion, they moved to Tel Aviv. When she died she was brought for burial in the old cemetery in Rishon Le Zion.
