The founder Moshe Aharon Cohen was born in Nikolayev, Russia.
He came to the country in 1882 and was one of the founders of Rishon Le Zion and a signator to the first protocols. He was a farmer who, for 30 years, bore the burden of hard work and the hardships of the life. He planted mulberry trees for the silk worms and also geraniums for the perfume industry. In 1911 he left the village and went to Australia and from there to Europe. He died in Paris.
