Chairmen of the local council
In 1922, based on the proposal of the governor of the Jaffa district, the villages' union began making inquiries into the possibility of founding municipalities for the larger settlements. At the same time, the union attempted to prepare a proposal defining the municipal laws.
The Election Committee in Rishon Le-Zion met to prepare the foundations for the elections and worked in collaboration with the National Committee.
In November 1922 men and women voted for the first council members. The "Council's first session of the municipality" met on November 15, 1922.
